At first, they couldn’t swap it because this is a refurb. Then they realized that it’s a refurb of a CTO model. And the price we got is far better than the staff discretionary discount. And there is no more refurb stock of this config online.Permalink On twitter.com

So a repair is the only option. And they don’t repair these in store. So it’d have to go out and may or may not be back this week due to the holiday (all of this is very understandable) So now they’re texting techs to see if they’re comfortable attempting the repair in store.Permalink On twitter.com

Update! The tech called this morning to say they ran their diagnostics and the keyboard was fine. They could not reproduce the problem. I made them run through the repro procedure I’d outlined in an open Textedit doc on the desktop. “Oh. Yeah. That’s not right.”Permalink On twitter.com
