@robin7331 @spacehuhn What kind of volume do you think you’re looking at? Most of the places I’ve talked to won’t pick up the proverbial phone for under about 1k units, but at that price, they’re covering the cost of design and the die. With a local supplier it might be different, though.

@robin7331 @spacehuhn Once you’ve got your design done, FedEx (and possibly other carriers) will do a free drop/crush/vibration test and consultation if you have an account and are thinking of using them. They’ll need one copy of the box & product and will test and send a detailed report.

@robin7331 @spacehuhn Rather than looking for a design agency, I’d look for local cardboard box companies. There are likely a couple in pretty much any city. Email ‘em or call ‘em up and ask if they can make the packaging for your product.

@robin7331 @spacehuhn The last time I did packaging design, I hacked up a single sheet of cardboard with an X-Acto knife to convey the general idea of the shape I wanted, the type of locking closure I wanted, and then sent them product dimensions and a STEP file.

@robin7331 @spacehuhn I sent to two vendors. One nailed it. The other came back with two iterations of something that…would have been an expensive mistake.
