@UPS in Oakland is absolutely melting down.
-
At 2pm, they promised me a call back by 4. At 4, they told me I’d get a call back by 8. At which point, I’m just SOL until Monday at the earliest.
-
Finally managed to get a callback from a customer service supervisor in Atlanta. She’s the first person who didn’t promise that the package would be delivered on the next business day. She told me that she’s been unable to contact the Oakland depot, but that she would keep trying
-
Well that feels like an escalation.
-
And their Twitter support people tell me that I don’t need a call back and that I should keep refreshing the website because this package will be delivered today. last week, the story was that tracking information on the website was inaccurate and I shouldn’t rely on it.
-
Now they say they were looking at the wrong package when they told me it would get delivered today. For the record, I will not judge anyone for muting this thread.
-
After two failed attempts to escalate to the depot, @UPS just gives up and says “sorry you haven’t been contacted. keep checking the website”
-
Update! @UPS says that the package, scanned as arriving at the Oakland “destination” depot on Friday has actually been seen. In Colorado Springs, Colorado. They also say that the Oakland depot called and spoke to me, which they have not.
-
I can’t help but believe that this was punitive, because I complained and tried to escalate.
