    @jsnitsel At the time, it was a hobby project. I was also teaching myself C from K&R. I was running RedHat 3.0.3? (The Mother’s Day release) on an ultraportable laptop I hid in a Manila envelope in our closet.

      @jsnitsel I didn’t have a CD drive with me. So I had imaged the cdrom onto a second partition for recovery if shit went down. As it happened, disk corruption took out a bunch of system binaries. Including mount. I ended up solving this by writing a tiny “mount” in C
